Bangkok – 8 July 2014: Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) had recently won the prestigious Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award (AREA) 2014 in the ‘Health Promotion’ category for its remarkable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative run through the “Sook-Kha-Wat-Dee” project, which means good restrooms in the temple in English, by CentralFestival Pattaya Beach that has been implemented for over 4 years. The award was conferred by Enterprise Asia in Singapore. The AREA program recognizes and honors Asian enterprises for championing sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship under a range of categories, including Social Empowerment, Investment in People, Health Promotion, and Green Leadership.
Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President of Marketing for CPN, said: “we are honoured to be recognized at an international platform for our corporate social responsibility effort with this esteemed Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award (AREA) 2014. CPN is aware of the importance of doing business in a socially responsible way. The main thrust of CPN’s CSR is to aid and constructively develop Thai society in the form of continuous support for communities around its shopping malls. CPN is constantly contributing to philanthropic activities for the communities surrounding its shopping complexes. CentralFestival Pattaya Beach cooperated with Pattaya municipality authority and local communities to carry out the “Sook-kha-wat-dee” project to further the effort of creating a hygienic and healthy environment. This project aims to assist communities to develop and enhance basic amenities by improving the public restrooms in temples around 33 communities in Pattaya and maintain them in good hygienic standard condition as CPN sees that these religious buildings are important cultural and spiritual place for people in the communities to gather in Thailand. With this project, CPN built up synergy among key stakeholders in the communities by keeping strong relationship and encourage participation from the local and the employees as well as constantly monitored completed project for repairing and maintaining purpose. We have a long way to go to create a healthy community and with this recognition we believe we are in the right path to achieve our objective for the community.”
